FIA rule changes forced a European Formula One team into producing their own car in terms of Design and Build. They were left with two choices:

How VHR ATS's targeted specialist expertise helped deliver complex B777 landing gear changes faster, safer, and with minimal disruption to live maintenance operations.

A leading MRO in the Middle East was required to complete two B777 landing gear change programmes within an active maintenance environment. Alongside delivery, the organisation was also focused on developing less experienced engineering staff on the hangar floor, increasing both technical and operational complexity.
At the same time, in house subject matter experts were already committed to other programmes and specialist B777 landing gear expertise was limited in the local market. The MRO needed immediate access to proven experience to ensure safe execution, regulatory compliance, and on time delivery without disrupting ongoing operations.

The Situation 

VHR provided specialist technical support by deploying an experienced B777 landing gear consultant with deep hands on knowledge of complex removal and installation tasks.
Working closely with the client&rsquo;s planning, maintenance, and quality teams, VHR ensured the programme was fully aligned with production schedules and operational constraints. The consultant provided hands on leadership on the shop floor, maintaining strict adherence to OEM procedures and regulatory requirements while also supporting and mentoring junior engineers throughout the programme.
This approach allowed the client to maintain control of safety, quality, and compliance while continuing to build internal capability during live operations.

Both B777 landing gear change programmes were completed successfully ahead of schedule and within budget.
All work was delivered in full compliance with OEM standards and regulatory requirements, with no impact to safety or quality.
Junior engineering staff gained valuable hands on experience under specialist supervision, strengthening long term workforce capability.
The MRO met its operational targets with minimal disruption to ongoing maintenance activity and avoided the risks associated with delayed delivery or limited in house expertise.

B777 Landing Gear Change Programme

In September 2018, VHR rapidly recruited 26 contractors to help a client break a transatlantic speed record, ensuring they met their deadline and achieved significant savings.

Our clients' were in the process of building a High Speed Interceptor that aimed to break a world record. The Transatlantic Crossing involved racing through the &lsquo;northern route&rsquo; <a href="https://www.safehavenmarine.com/2019-trans-atlantic-challenge">from Newfoundland to Killybegs</a>&nbsp;via Greenland and Iceland for refuelling.
Our clients original interceptor was the record-holder for circumnavigating, adding yet more pressure to their record-breaking goal.

The project was running behind schedule, leaving our client at risk of failing to meet the deadline on the business-critical order.

The Challenge

VHR&rsquo;s team of international employees, who speak 24 languages collectively, sourced and delivered candidates from Poland, Latvia and Croatia to the desired site in Europe. One of the largest Automotive manufacturers in the world chose VHR to support their latest car model launch. The Automotive brand needed to meet an August 2018 deadline to launch their new car model; they were lacking a large volume of skilled engineers across their supply chain, and if they missed the deadline, they would not be allowed to take the car to market. The Automotive brand is a billion pound turnover business, so this new product launch and its sales were crucial to long-term business success.
The Automotive brand were looking for skilled and semi-skilled Composite Technicians to work with five suppliers. VHR had an existing pool of candidates with the right background, and planned to conduct several recruitment trips to interview our existing candidate networks and identify further talent pools.

VHR conducted the first recruitment trip in Europe in 2018, interviewing 50 Laminators, Finishers and CNC Operators in two days. Our team arranged interviews, found locations, organised all logistics for candidates and personally conducted all 50 interviews.&nbsp;
VHR&rsquo;s ethos of going the extra mile generated further interviews via referrals of the candidates who enjoyed working with us. Our team conducted a second trip with all referred candidates in addition to new candidates sourced through our own research, social media channels and networks.

A major Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) provider contracted VHR Aircraft Technical Services to perform Flight Length Sensitive (FLS) tasks on two Boeing 737 aircraft. The project involved working in confined fuel tank spaces and required strict regulatory compliance. With both aircraft scheduled simultaneously, VHR was responsible for ensuring consistent quality and delivery under tight timeframes.
