Our CEO Danny Brooks was also a finalist in the category of Director of the Year Awards 2021 Agility & Resilience and SME £5 mill - £50 mill Category.

 

The IoD Awards

The IoD Awards recognise excellence in leadership in the private, public and third sectors. The Awards serve to highlight the most inspiring and high-performing directors across the UK and to celebrate the successes of innovative businesses and their leaders.

VHR’s COO Paul Robinson won in the category of International Director. Paul joined VHR in 2004 as the business’ second employee. For over 17 years Paul has been integral to VHR’s international expansion, which has included incorporating in Ireland, Spain, Italy, Czechia and Abu Dhabi.

VHR’s CEO Danny Brooks was a Finalist in the category of Director of the Year Awards 2021 Agility & Resilience and SME £5 mill - £50 mill Category. After starting up VHR in 2003 without any financial aid, Danny has grown VHR to a global company with 8 offices worldwide, placing candidates in 52 countries..

The winners of the IoD Awards were announced at the official awards ceremony on 11th November a virtual ceremony. Each category winner gained not only their regional title but become a Finalist in the nationwide IoD Director of the Year Awards, to be judged later. We look forward to finding out if Paul is a nationwide winner. 

 

Award-Winning Recruitment

Paul has also won an Award from the Institute of Directors being named International Director of the Year in the IoD’s London & South Awards in 2019 and becoming a finalist again in October 2019 after winning the title again this year. 

This shortlisting is Danny’s fourth nomination as an IoD Finalist. In 2018 Danny was named Director of the Year in the London & South IoD Awards, before going on to win the title of Global Director of the Year at the IoD Director of the Year Awards National Finals. In 2020 Danny regained his title winning International Director of the Year. 

 Danny and Paul’s success follows a year of award-winning recruitment for VHR:

  • MBE for Services to International Trade – Danny received an MBE for his services to international trade in January 2021 and was listed on the New Years’ Honours List.
  • Queen’s Award– VHR received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade in April 2018. The Queen’s Award recognised VHR’s sustainable growth over 15 years and our successes working across 45 countries.
  • Global Recruiter Awards - In October VHR were shortlisted for three accolades at the 2021 Global Recruiter Awards where we went on to win Best In-House Training and was highly commended for Best Medium Recruitment Business.
