The Opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Payroll & Finance Manager to join our team on a full-time basis.
As a head of team within our busy Finance Department, and reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you are responsible for managing the Pay/Bill team based across our London and Abu Dhabi offices.
The team is responsible for the timely management and processing of temporary and contract worker timesheets, payment of several hundred temporary and contract workers according to a weekly or monthly timetable, raising and submission of sales invoices to customers, and ensuring the integrity of the general ledger. The team is also responsible for accounts payable, staff expenses and assisting with bank reconciliations for all of VHR’s global companies.
The Finance Department is about to embark on a transformation project, upgrading the current technology stack to RSM InTime and Sage Intacct to deliver a best-in-class system by leveraging automation and system integrations to remove manual processes and increase controls within the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of the Pay/Bill team, who are based in London and Abu Dhabi, including annual appraisals, training/development and recruitment
- Ensuring all weekly/monthly pay and invoicing cycles are completed
- Posting and approving payments in VHR’s UK and overseas bank accounts
- Raising invoices for permanent placements
- Management of intercompany transactions/recharges
- Ensuring all accounts payable invoices are promptly paid
- Processing of contractor and employee expenses
- General management of the purchase and sales ledger
- Serve as a key member of the project team to deliver the new technology stack
- Act as a system administrator for our new pay/bill software RSM InTime and accounting system Sage Intacct
- Drive improvements of processes, systems and internal controls
- Assist with bank and other general ledger reconciliations
- Assist with annual statutory audit
The Individual:
- 5 years’ experience working in a high volume and high complexity payroll department within a recruitment business
- Experienced in managing remote teams
- Ability to inspire and motivate a team of people to work collaboratively and efficiently
- You must be professional, highly organised, a strong communicator, tenacious and resilient
- Analytical and logical with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable with working to firm deadlines
- An experienced user of RSM InTime and/or Sage Intacct would be highly desirable
- AAT qualification (or equivalent) preferrable
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required. German, Italian or Arabic would be beneficial
