5. Candy Store Cup
Launched in 2016, the Candy Store Cup is one of the world’s newest regattas. A yacht racing spinoff formed from the Nantucket and Newport Buckett Regattas (more on the Buckett Regatta below), the 2018 will see the third edition of the Candy Store Cup take place in Newport, America. This year’s yacht race takes inspiration from Newport’s 200-year yachting history, showcasing some of the world’s most spectacular yachts and offering a relaxed, friendly environment for teams and superyacht fans.
4. Millennium Cup
The New Zealand Millennium Cup is a celebration of good racing, great cruising grounds and exceptional hospitality. Since 2000 the Millennium Cup has seen superyachts compete in Russell, New Zealand’s first European settlement and now a 1,000-population town, amidst the stunning Bay of Islands which are home to exotic marine wildlife, including dolphins that regularly swim alongside the yachts. A world-class superyacht infrastructure and a racing event enjoyed in the heights of summer make the Millennium Cup one of the top 5 superyacht regattas of 2018.

3. Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta
The Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta returns for its 10th year in 2018. Kicking off the European superyacht season, the Loro Piana Regatta offers stunning courses around Sardinia’s numerous islands and showcases some of the world’s most famous superyachts.
2. Buckett Regatta
Sailing since 1986, the Buckett Regatta began in Massachusetts and recently settled in the French-speaking Caribbean island of St Barths. This year’s Buckett Regatta will see 40 superyachts compete in up to 30 courses; a significant development from the 3 courses of 2017’s yacht race. With a unique line-up of events, from live musicians to aerial silk performers to legendary private parties, the off-water spectacles of the Buckett Regatta make it one of the top 5 superyacht regattas to attend in 2018.

Held in Palma De Mallorca, Spain, the four-day event is the longest-running superyacht race in Europe, and the Bay of Palma’s early summer conditions and reliable sea breezes present the best racing conditions in the Mediterranean. In an innovative move with an environmental focus, the Superyacht Cup has recently become the first superyacht regatta to team up with yacht crews and owners to reduce sea waste and pollution with the Sailors for the Seas Clean Regattas programme.
