The Captain’s Ride 2017: Day Four
Fierce headwind, cold climate and travelling further than ever before – Day Four of the Captain’s Ride.
The Captain’s Ride Diary: Day Four
Danny reveals of the fourth day’s riding, ‘Day Four was another cold one with another fierce headwind. Today we thought the hills would let up a bit, but that wasn’t to be – we rode for much longer than any day so far, giving us very sore legs!
‘Day Four saw us ride nearly 150km from Cradle Mountain to Strahan. Pushing through the pain, we flew through rewarding downhill sections into Zeehan and then onwards to Strahan for a long rest. Tired and aching (but still thoroughly enjoying the challenge!) the support from our teammates helps us to cover the long distances and raise money for the Steve Waugh Foundation charity.’
Day Four by the Numbers:
Distance – 142.7km
Elevation – 1,752m
Moving Time – 6:50:36
Calories – 2,599
