Breaking records with Formula 1 Driver Mark Webber – Day Five of the Captain’s Ride.
The Captain’s Ride Diary: Day Five
Danny reveals of the fifth day’s riding, ‘Day Five was the longest and toughest day of the Captain’s Ride so far, but our hard work was rewarded with warm and glorious sunshine. Over a total of 10 hours on the road including 7.5 hours in the saddle, we rode 177kms with a 2.8km vertical climb.
‘I was fortunate enough to spend an hour on the front of my peloton with ex-Formula One Driver Mark Webber. Mark is a great guy with some amazing stories. Joining Mark and other sports legends, including former Australian Cricket Captain Waugh and Olympic Decathlon champion Daley Thompson on the Captain’s Ride brings home the importance of the challenge in raising money for the Steve Waugh Foundation.’
