Cycle to Work Day - VHR
Posted - 12 September, 2017
Wednesday 13th September marks employee fitness initiative Cycle to Work Day.
Promoted by Cyclescheme UK, Cycle to Work Day encourages employees of businesses all over the UK to get on their bikes and travel to work the healthy way.
Cycle to Work Day - The Benefits
For employees, cycling to work is an easy way to boost your health and fitness, improving both physical and mental wellbeing in the short and long-term.
Travelling to work by bike saves money and helps the environment by reducing the air pollution associated with cars and other forms of transport.
From a business perspective, cycling to work improves not only the health and wellbeing of employees - whilst the average employee takes 4.5 sick days per year, a cycle commuter takes only 2.4 sick days - but drives employee engagement and motivation.
The benefits of Cycle to Work day can help to improve staff happiness, company culture and employee retention, in combination with the hard ROI of increased employee focus and productivity to deliver a strong positive impact to business.
