Make 2018 The Year of You – Top 5 Job Trends of 2018

VHR reveal the 5 Top Job Trends of 2018 that will make this year The Year of You.

Looking for a technical or engineering job? Nearly half the UK workforce are ready to change jobs this year – so how can you stand out from the crowd? VHR reveal the 5 Top Job Trends of 2018 that will make this year The Year of You.

The Year of You

The Top 5 Job Trends of 2018

  • 2018 – The Year of Tech
With the rise of the mobile world and job searching apps, candidates can instantly contact companies and apply for multiple jobs on the move. Make 2018 the Year of You by using the latest technology in your job search.

  • Personality = Employability
World-leading businesses have used personality tests in their recruitment processes for the last 10 years. Research what type of test you may be taking to get a feel for the process, but remember that openness and honesty are most important. Let your personality shine through in 2018.

The Year of You

  • Building Blocks
An online presence is becoming essential to professional success, and a digital career footprint is fast becoming one of the top job trends of 2018. Build your social media profile across channels like LinkedIn to display your industry knowledge and unique skill set.
  • Short and Sweet
In 2018 many businesses will prefer shorter cover letters when recruiting – large volumes of applications mean candidates must impress with fewer words. We recommend a cover later of two paragraphs with a CV of 2 pages; all information should be factual, concise and tailored to each role you apply for.

  • The Year of Choice
The first half of 2018 will see fewer people applying for jobs – meaning reduced competition for candidates – with the same predicted for this summer. This year is the optimum time to apply for your perfect job. Don’t wait until next year – change your career and your life by making the top job trends of 2018 work for you.
