Finance Internship at VHR: Reece Smith Intern Blog
“Hard work beats talent, when talent fails to work hard.”
My name’s Reece and I was born and raised in London. It is such a vast city with a wonderful atmosphere and so many things to do and see. I also enjoy interacting with such a wide range of people and cultures.
I needed to gain some practical experience in my chosen field and VHR is a progressive company so it felt like an ideal place to learn and develop my skills. VHR is also an international company which allows me to work with various currencies such as GBP, Euro, US Dollars and UAE Dirhams.
The key thing I’ve learned is the importance of accuracy and attention to detail in financial work. There is zero room for error.
The Finance intern before me, Tayyeb, encouraged me to ask questions, as the finance team are all approachable and happy to help. This really helped me settle into my role.

VHR offers unpaid internships which cover only meal and travel expenses. VHR’s unpaid internships fulfil all legal criteria as outlined by HMRC; unpaid internships do not automatically result in paid job positions. Please contact Jai Popat at Jai.Popat@v-hr.com for further clarification.
