With the electric atmosphere and never-ending industry innovations, the Dubai Air Show is proving a spectacular event for the Aerospace & Aviation calendar.
Plane of the Day: F-22 Raptor, US Airforce
It’s bold, it’s powerful and it’s a stunning piece of Aviation engineering. The F-22 Raptor, placed delicately amongst the U.S. Airforce display, steals Day Three of the Dubai Air Show.
The U.S Airforce display has overwhelmingly taken charge of the Defence aircraft displays at the Dubai Air Show. The effect of seeing all seven bold aircraft lined up together reinforces the power and standing of the U.S. Airforce.
The skilful F-22 Raptor has shown off its stunning capabilities every day of the week in the Air Show display so far.
As Lockheed Martin’s stealth fifth-generation fighter aircraft, the Raptor has a reputation like no other – its mission is to be untouchable, and it is a force to be reckoned with.

Top Three Exhibitions
Lockheed Martin: Fused Security and Defence
At the centre of the Defence and Aviation industry, Lockheed Martin and their display at this year’s Dubai Air Show didn’t fail to impress. Surrounding the stand are eye-catching photographs of Defence aircraft, combined with models of fighter planes and air force transport.
Lockheed Martin specialises in global Aerospace, Defence, security and advanced technologies, with their worldwide interests displayed brilliantly throughout the Dubai Air Show.
The exhibition hall boasts several Lockheed Martin Defence and Aviation exhibits.
The stand pictured is the most interactive for an audience, offering numerous touch-screen computers allowing you to source further information, and the virtual reality experience of flying your own aircraft.
Mars Mission: UAE Space Agency
There’s no avoiding this spectacle: the UAE Space Agency win the award for the most curious display.
What is in that dome? What is the Mars Mission? Is this the beginning of life on Mars? To some degree, yes!
The Mars Mission by the UAE Space Agency have discovered a way of growing plants in a ‘Mars-like’ atmosphere. In 2018, the UAE will be celebrating the year of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founder of the UAE, for what would have been his 100th birthday. For this special celebration, the UAE Space Agency have honoured his life by proving there is a way to grow life on Mars.
The Civilisation Plant is a social initiative designed to increase awareness of space agriculture. The Mars Mission aims to encourage and support research and innovation within the space industry; one of the main national sectors that attracted the attention of the late Sheikh.
Etihad Aircraft Display
Bold and beautiful, the Etihad aircraft display outside the main exhibition hall is one of Day Three’s top exhibitions.
Few aircraft can compete with the class and elegance of Etihad’s gold painted airplanes. Etihad Airways is a flag carrier and the second-largest airline of the UAE. Its expansive presence in the Dubai Air Show is felt throughout the exhibition halls.
The wingspan of the Etihad plane is enormous, and its stance is graceful. In celebration of 100 years of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Etihad’s display is an impressive, honourable sight.
